Our pioneer girls and boys.
INTRODUCTION.

Place Of Grace (POG) Children’s home is a non-profit institution that takes care of Orphaned and Vulnerable Children (OVC)It was founded by the late Peninah Maria Kioko in 2009, in Soweto slum, Nairobi.

Today, it is a family of 25 children ranging between 1 and 18 years old and coming from different backgrounds. The Home provides a family where there is physical, educational and spiritual nurturing.

At the beginning, Maria managed to host 24 children in a single room which was a real challenge. But her love for them kept her moving. From Soweto, she settled in an unfinished building at Donholm Phase 8, Nairobi, Kenya. It was already the heaven for children coming from the slums. Because of the environment, the family had to move to another place at the end of 2021, in Donholm Phase 5. Since the beginning, the organization rents the house. In the long run, the goal is to be the owner of a building.

Place Of Grace is a refuge for troubled and hurting children, children who are experiencing emotional instability often due to family trauma and for children that have been abused and/or neglected. For whatever reason, these children were unable to cope with their current living conditions.

The vision of POG is to provide more than just the basic physical needs of Orphaned and Vulnerable Children in need. It is also to provide a nurturing family that gives the children an excellent education that exceeds what is normally available in the surrounding slum communities in Nairobi.

The mission of POG is to Provide Orphans and Vulnerable Children with basic and Secondary needs such as Food, shelter, education clothes, medical care, recreation, parental and spiritual guidance and love.
